TG Academy Prepares Work Force Ready Employees for Restaurant and Retail Industry

Dallas, TX – December 13, 2017 The Time Group Academy announced today the graduation of the third class of work force trainees. One hundred and twenty-eight participants completed training in one of three areas that included: Dish Room Attendant or Guest Services for the restaurant industry and Retail Clerk / Associate for the retail industry. The Time Group partnered with Union Gospel Mission Dallas and Brother Bill’s Helping Hand to offer training and job readiness to attendees and will assist in employment placement through job fairs. “Through our association with various industry leaders, we recognized a gap in those seeking employment and the skills that employers require of applicants,” stated Margaret McKoin, CEO of The Time Group. “We created the TG Academy to prepare the work force with the skills, training and confidence they will need to be hired and then connect them to employers seeking those skills. We hope to add ten additional job positions in 2018, including management training.”

TG Academy classes are led by trainers who are industry experts, entrepreneurs, business owners and accomplished athletes. Former NFL Super Bowl player and business entrepreneur, Isaiah Stanback, is part of the team participating to equip a work force that will succeed through continual professional development.

“We are thrilled to see the TG Academy taking the initiative to train and prepare those seeking employment so we as businesses can select employees equipped with a skill set we need,” commented Andy Rittler, Executive Director of the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association.

Classes are offered free of charge to attendees, and those wishing to participate may sign up through Union Gospel Mission Dallas www.ugmdallas.org or Brother Bill’s Helping Hand www.bbhh.org. Additionally, if businesses are seeking trained employees and would like to participate in upcoming job fairs, please contact Margaret McKoin at [email protected]. The TG Academy is also seeking businesses willing to donate shoes and clothing for participant’s interviews. Those wishing to donate may contact Margaret McKoin at [email protected].
